Member of the European Parliament Aura Salla was interviewed by NBC News on her stance on the Trump administration and recent developments regarding the sweeping tariffs imposed by the US.
Although the 27 countries forming the EU are at times conflicted in their policy views, MEP Salla highlighted that Europe stands united when it comes to Trump’s tariffs. The EU Member States understand that a united front serves to send a signal: the EU can and will act when it comes to tariffs.
Importantly, while the US remains an ally to the EU, MEP Salla believes that the EU must be strong in its response to the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. As we know that more than 80% of the EU’s external trade is not focused on the US, Brussels is now doubling down on its other partnerships.
