The EU should focus on issues that are best addressed at the union level: economy, security, and climate change.
In my political work, I focus on strengthening the European Union’s economy, competitiveness, and productivity to ensure the future of European welfare societies, develop solutions to combat the climate crisis, and enhance Europe’s overall security.
The European Union’s core values are built on the rule of law, democracy, and respect for freedom of speech and individual liberties. Defending universal human rights, a rules-based global order, and international law are fundamental principles of my foreign policy approach.
A free market and a productive economy are tools to promote equal opportunities, strengthen Europe’s educational foundation and expertise, ensure the well-being of citizens in their daily lives and future, and secure a sufficient talent pool within the European Union now and in the years to come. Education policy aimed at being the best in the world must serve as the cornerstone of European competence.
The Committee on Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE) is a pivotal committee in the European Parliament. It drives innovation, supports the green transition, and strengthens Europe’s energy independence and industrial competitiveness.
In my committee work, I focus on building a sustainable, competitive, innovative, and secure Europe. This entails enabling the international success of our businesses, ensuring clean and reliable energy solutions, and advancing future-oriented research to promote the well-being of Europeans. Achieving these goals requires climate-friendly energy systems, investments in renewable energy—particularly in energy-intensive industries—and the reinforcement of energy supply security across the EU.
In industrial policy, I advocate initiatives that help European industries maintain their competitiveness in global markets, particularly through digital and green innovations. EU research and development funding should be directed toward sectors essential for addressing the climate crisis, enhancing the EU’s overall security, and fostering growth and cutting-edge technologies.
The Committee on Budgets (BUDG) is responsible for planning and overseeing the European Union’s budget. It ensures that EU funds are allocated efficiently and economically to support shared objectives, such as economic growth, social justice, and sustainable development.
As a substitute member of BUDG, I work to ensure the balanced and responsible use of the EU budget. This includes negotiations on the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and directing funding to critical priorities such as the green transition, EU security, digitalization, and research and innovation. Transparency and effectiveness in the use of funds are essential in this context.
I am also committed to developing the EU’s system of own resources, aiming to phase out national contributions to the Union.
The Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) focuses on ensuring competitive and consumer-friendly internal markets within the EU. As a substitute member of IMCO, I work to remove barriers to cross-border trade, promote digital innovations, and protect consumers in areas ranging from online services to product safety standards.
My priorities include driving economic growth by strengthening the internal market, supporting SMEs and growth-oriented companies, and ensuring fair competition across the EU. I also advocate for consumer rights, such as transparency and access to information, enabling informed decision-making.
IMCO plays a central role in shaping legislation on digital services and e-commerce, aiming to create a safe and inclusive digital environment for everyone. I strive to build a Europe where businesses thrive, and consumers benefit from high standards and robust protections, ensuring the internal market serves all Europeans effectively.
