Press Release: MEP Aura Salla’s Team Strengthens – Petra Järvimaa Appointed as Local Assistant

MEP Aura Salla’s team has welcomed a new addition, as Petra Järvimaa started as Local Assistant on April 14.

Järvimaa is responsible for MEP Salla’s domestic affairs, including liaison with the party organisation and national parliamentary group. She also supports the MEP’s work on issues related to SMEs and start-ups in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), and follows the work of the Committee on Budgets (BUDG).

Petra Järvimaa joins the team from the National Coalition Party’s Helsinki district office. She has previously worked as part of the core team at the startup event Slush, and has experience in student advocacy and representation. She holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Amsterdam, where she focused on EU affairs, energy and geopolitics, and technology policy.

Her office is based at the Finnish Parliament in Helsinki.

“Petra has an excellent understanding of the party landscape and key Finnish stakeholders. In the work of a Member of the European Parliament, maintaining close ties with the home country is essential, and in this regard, Petra brings us valuable expertise and support,” says MEP Aura Salla.

Järvimaa has eagerly taken on her new role as part of MEP Salla’s team.

“Europe’s competitiveness, security, and climate policy are key priorities that require determined efforts both at the EU level and in Finland. I’m delighted to support Aura in these important matters and to join her knowledgeable and dedicated team,” says Järvimaa.
