After tough negotiations we got a deal in the trilogue negotiations on InvestEU, where I served as the Chief Negotiator for the file in the Budgets Committee.
€2,9 billion in additional guarantees from reflows will now be injected into InvestEU, unlocking up to €60 billion in private investments across Europe.
This means more opportunities for SMEs to invest and innovate, stronger support for defence and resilience projects, and fresh private capital to give Europe’s competitiveness the long-awaited boost it needs.
At the same time we simplified the rules: fewer reports, less administrative burden, and more guidance and support for companies to access loan guarantees.
Now it is up to European businesses to seize this opportunity and turn InvestEU into concrete growth, jobs and innovation.
